The La Union Province GHG Inventory Report was formulated to fulfill the following objectives:
- Quantify and document the GHG emissions from various sectors/sources within the province, such as energy, transportation, waste, agriculture to create a comprehensive emissions profile;
- Establish a baseline emissions data to serve as reference point for measuring future emission reductions and tracking progress over time;
- Identify the major sources of GHG emissions within the province to target for mitigation efforts;
- Ensure reporting compliance to key national government agencies;
- Provide transparent and verifiable data to stakeholders, including government agencies, businesses, and the public;
- Support the development and evaluation of informed and effective climate policies by providing solid evidence; and
- Raise public awareness about the sources and impacts of GHG emissions within the province thus opening opportunities to engage with community stakeholders to foster collaborations for climate action.
