The Seoul Human Resources Development Center (SHRDC) of the City of Seoul, United Cities and Local Government (UCLG), Metropolis, and UCLG-ASPAC this September 2022 will organize a free of charge training programme focusing on resilience building and disaster risk reduction at the city and metropolitan level.

The program is open to the public officials of local governments and metropolitan cities. It combines self-paced learning through UCLG’s online course on “Fundamentals of Resilient Governance“, video lectures exploring concrete examples of local resilience policies by the city of Seoul, and interactive online sessions for participants to engage with each other and learn from other experiences.

The schedules for the live sessions via Zoom are:

• Session 1 : 7th Sept, 2022 – 09:00-11:00 (CEST)
• Session 2 : 14th Sept, 2022 – 09:00-11:00 (CEST)
• Session 3 : 21st Sept, 2022 – 09:00-11:00 (CEST)

In addition to completing the online course, reviewing video lectures, and joining the live sessions, each person or group (if multiple officials are joining from the same city) will have to submit an action plan exploring resilience policies in their city at the end of the course. This will be reviewed and will receive feedback from experts from Seoul and/or organizing partners.
