Banking on the key role of sub-national governments for climate action, particularly on our journey towards net-zero emissions, ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability Southeast Asia (ICLEI SEA) will be holding the From Vision to Action: Enabling the Renewable Energy Transition through Innovative Financing and Global Networks Webinar and Project Launch of RENEW-Southeast Asia: Mobilizing and Empowering Subnational Governments in Southeast Asia for Sustainable Energy Transition (RENEW SEA).
The online event aims to officially launch the implementation of the RENEW SEA project in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. It also seeks to convene and invite local governments in Southeast Asia to join the 100% Renewables Cities and Regions Network to demonstrate their commitment towards just energy transition. Finally, it aims to provide a venue for exchange among local governments on how they can lead the energy transition and act on renewable energy and energy efficiency.
The RENEW SEA project is funded by the Tara Climate Foundation, based in Singapore, and is being implemented by ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability.
This webinar and project launch will be held on 23 September 2024 from 14:00-15:30 GMT+7 / 15:00-16:30 GMT+8. During the event, attendees will be able to know more about the RENEW SEA Project, ICLEI’s 100% RE Network, and the Transformative Actions Program (TAP).
