ICLEI Southeast Asia (SEA) invites local government and national government representatives to a webinar on August 18, 2026 that will guide them in reporting their climate data through the CDP-ICLEI Track, the world’s leading climate reporting platform for cities to monitor and measure the impact of their climate mitigation efforts.

“CDP-ICLEI Track 2026 Reporting Cycle: An Introductory Webinar for Southeast Asian Cities” aims to strengthen subnational climate reporting across the region by introducing the CDP-ICLEI Track 2026 reporting cycle as a practical, standardized platform for cities.

Participants will learn about the CDP-ICLEI Track, including its reporting framework, timelines, and benefits, while highlighting real-world experiences from cities that have successfully utilized the platform.

Aside from providing technical guidance on the CDP-ICLEI track, the webinar will also include perspectives at the national level to emphasize how local climate reporting supports national climate commitments; and at the city level, to facilitate sharing of best practices and learnings on how local governments can utilize climate data for planning and evidence-based policy and decision-making.

Participants will also learn how the availability of consistent, high-quality local climate data has become critical for tracking progress, informing policy, and unlocking climate finance—especially as national and local governments in Southeast Asia advance their climate commitments.

By introducing the CDP-ICLEI Track as a platform that provides a structured and internationally aligned format, ICLEI SEA seeks to assist subnational governments in addressing capacity and resource gaps in compiling and reporting Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventories, climate risks, and climate action plans.

Every year, the CDP publishes an “A List” which recognizes global climate leadership, transparency, and action among companies, cities, states, and regions that achieved an A score based on their self-reported data through the CDP-ICLEI Track. In 2025, three ICLEI SEA members were among the A List Cities recognized by CDP.

Reporting through the CDP-ICLEI Track has also been a pivotal aspect of the World Wide Fund for Nature’s (WWF) One Planet City Challenge (OPCC). Cities have been regularly reporting in the CDP-ICLEI Track as part of the OPCC. In Southeast Asia, cities have actively participated in the global challenge since 2013, with Makati City in the Philippines recently being named as a Global Winner of the OPCC’s 2025-2026 cycle based on the data they reported through the CDP-ICLEI Track.
