With Indonesia’s latest NDC commitment outlining higher GHG reduction targets of 31.89% (unconditional) and 43.2% (conditional) as compared to 29% and 41% respectively in a previous iteration, the country’s ambitious target to reach net zero by 2060 or earlier is expected to maneuver rather positively in the incoming year.
The Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI Climate Unit), has been committed to putting climate change as the priority issue in their advocacy programs and community initiatives to address the need for climate readiness and awareness in the country.
This year, FPCI has tapped into a multi-partner engagement, including Yayasan ICLEI Indonesia as a community partner, to conduct the yearly climate conference Indonesia Net Zero Summit 2023 themed “It’s Now or Never” to call on public participation and anticipation in the Indonesian climate journey.
INZS aims to serve as a forum for multi-stakeholder to discuss and advocate their aspirations regarding the achievement of Indonesia’s net-zero emission.
INZS 2023 itself presented a unique climate festival by combining various forms of activities, ranging from panel discussions, musical performances, town hall or pulpit free games, quizzes, and games, as well as various other activities.
