CitiesWithNature invites local governments to commit to safekeeping biodiversity

CitiesWithNature (CWN) is a unique initiative that recognizes and enhances the value of nature in and around cities across the world. Launched in 2018 by ICLEI — Local Governments for Sustainability, The Nature Conservancy, and The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as founding partners, CWN serves as a beacon of hope, uniting cities from around the world to harmonize urban development with nature conservation.

By becoming a CWN city, local governments will not only join a global network of +295 frontrunner cities in biodiversity, but also gain access to several tools and resources. This includes the Action Platform — an invaluable tool recognized in Convention on Biological Diversity Decision 15/12 as the Platform where cities can report on, and track progress against, their commitments to contributing to the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and national biodiversity strategies and action plans.

To join the CWN and unlock the benefits of the Action Platform, Communities of Practice, Guides and digitized City Biodiversity Index tool, please go to the CitiesWithNature website.
