Some of the plans she mentioned include improving waste management and governance, establishing circular economy practices, initiatives to enhance community safety, programs promoting mental health, and community-focused activities like car-free Sundays. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Additionally, the mayor highlighted the Kuala Lumpur City Hall Energy Management Plan 2050, which focuses on energy conservation across 37 buildings, aiming for a cumulative reduction of 180,000 metric tons of carbon emissions over 25 years. Kuala Lumpur\u2019s participation in these sustainable development networks before its ICLEI membership has led to the city\u2019s involvement in a number of initiatives where ICLEI is also active.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Kuala Lumpur has been reporting to the CDP-ICLEI track since 2016 as a member of GCoM, C40, and the Race to Zero and Race to Resilience campaigns, based on the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/data.cdp.net\/Governance\/Historic-reporting-Cities-States-and-Regions-2024-\/ss7p-tmd7\/about_data\"><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>CDP-ICLEI dataset on historic review of Cities, States and Regions reporting through CDP-ICLEI Track from 2011 to 2024<\/strong>.<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> The CDP-ICLEI track is the world&#8217;s leading climate reporting platform and progress accountability mechanism for cities developed by CDP and ICLEI.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Kuala Lumpur also hosted ICLEI\u2019s launch of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/e-lib.iclei.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Cities-and-Regions-Talanoa-Dialogues-2018-ICLEI.pdf\"><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>Cities and Regions Talanoa Dialogues<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> at the 9th World Urban Forum in February 2018. The dialogues were designed as a bottom-up initiative to engage local and regional governments in the Talanoa process, aiming to strengthen Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and foster multilevel climate action.
