As an ongoing competition, with entries open every 2 years, the Awards recognize the role of city authorities in promoting and supporting greater inclusion of plants and nature in urban environments. Designed to champion ambitious nature-oriented approaches to city design and operation, they seek to celebrate public initiatives relying on a greater use of plants and nature to create better urban environments- helping to fulfil local aspirations for improved economic, social, and environmental resilience.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement of the Finalists for the 2024 edition of the AIPH World Green City Awards is the culmination of the first stage of a two-stage judging process, where the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aiph.org\/green-city\/green-city-awards\/technical-panel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>28 members\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/a>of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aiph.org\/latest-news\/technical-panel-aiph-world-green-city-awards-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>Technical Panel<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0reviewed and scored each eligible entry against the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aiph.org\/green-city\/green-city-awards\/judging-criteria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>six judging criteria.<\/strong><\/span><\/a> This list of 21 Finalists showcases the highest scoring three entries in each of the\u00a0<a With such a highly competitive number of entries received, we are so thrilled to be recognising the innovative, and now award-winning, actions of cities through the AIPH World Green City Awards 2024. The stage is set for another successful edition, as we eagerly await the announcement of the winners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Each of the 21 Finalists stands a chance of being selected as a category winner. The list of Finalists will be delivered to the world-renowned Jury, who will vote to select a winner in each category and a Grand Winner from the list of seven category winners in the second and final stage of judging. A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aiph.org\/green-city\/green-city-awards\/youth-jury\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>Youth Jury<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0will also select from the 21 Finalists a shortlist of 3 entries and the winner of the AIPH Youth Award: the top entry most likely to inspire the youth and fulfil their needs for a greener, healthier, and more resilient future.<\/p>\n<p>The winners will be announced at a dedicated Awards ceremony which will take the form of a gala dinner. The momentous occasion is set to be hosted on 25<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0September 2024 at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fgc2024.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>Future Green City World Congress<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0in Utrecht, the Netherlands. All Finalist cities are invited to the Awards ceremony and the full four-day programme offered by the Future Green City World Congress.
