Daring Cities 2023, an action-oriented initiative launched by ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability and the Federal City of Bonn, Germany, is in full swing! Carrying the theme <\/span>\u201cA just and equitable climate emergency response,\u201d<\/span><\/i> this year\u2019s Daring Cities seeks to continue showcasing and catalyzing exemplary local climate action to tackle the climate emergency, including ambitious resilience-building and climate mitigation efforts. As part of this year\u2019s Daring Cities, ICLEI Southeast Asia is inviting you to attend a <\/span><\/b>one-hour virtual forum session<\/b><\/span><\/a> on 22 August 2023 (2:00 PM GMT +7 \/ 3:00 PM GMT +8) <\/span><\/b>via Zoom<\/b><\/span><\/a> through <\/span>https:\/\/bit.ly\/DaringCities2023SoutheastAsia<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/strong><\/span> The virtual session will tackle stakeholder-driven adaptation and resilience initiatives being done by local governments around SEA. It seeks to highlight the importance of a bottom-up approach as an effective way of building resilience and adapting to climate change.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The roster of panelists for the event include: <\/span>Hon. Mar-Len Abigail Binay<\/span><\/b>, Mayor of Makati City, Philippines, Southeast Asia Representative to the ICLEI Global Executive Committee, and Chair of the ICLEI Innovative Financing portfolio; <\/span>Mr. Ahmad Zabri bin Mohamed Sarajudin<\/span><\/b>, Director of the Urban Services Department of Seberang Perai, Malaysia; <\/span>Mr. Zulhidayat<\/span><\/b>, Regional Secretary of Tanjungpinang City, Indonesia; and <\/span>Mr. Alan Luis Silayan<\/span><\/b>, Chief of Party of Climate Resilient Cities \u2013 Catholic Relief Services.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
