Source: IEA<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The course served as an avenue to allow participants and policymakers in emerging economies to learn from international best practices and share their own ideas and solutions <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">in order to implement effective energy efficiency initiatives<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in their respective countries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Joining the training session, Niken Arumdati, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Secretary of the <a href=\"https:\/\/desdm.ntbprov.go.id\/\"><span style=\"color: #00ccff\"><strong>WNT Department of Energy and Mineral Resources\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/a>,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> shared the program helped local authorities in gaining valuable information on the energy efficiency policy package, building relevant technologies, policy investments, and many more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She said \u201cEnergy efficiency is considered as the first fuel. It is abundant and inexpensive yet the most effective and quickest measure to slow the growth of energy demand, lower the energy bills, and to enhance resiliency.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Noting the need for robust implementation of energy efficiency in WNT, Arumdati underlined that the energy sector is the second main contributor of GHG emissions in the province.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIn order to achieve our net zero emissions\u2019 target in 2050, we need to decarbonize the energy sector. Source: ICLEI<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The event also highlighted that the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">greatest efficiency gains are achieved by a package of policies that effectively combine regulation, information, and incentives. Integration of these elements will maximize the impact and success of energy efficiency initiatives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In one of the sessions, ICLEI also <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">teamed up with IEA for a special edition of the <a href=\"https:\/\/renewablesroadmap.iclei.org\/resource\/sustainable-energy-transition-strategy-sets\/\"><span style=\"color: #00ccff\"><strong>Serious Game SETS<\/strong><\/span><\/a> at the IEA EETW 2023, focused on energy efficiency and digitalization.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> The Sustainable Energy Transition Strategy game (SETS) aims to bring together local government officials, and other diverse stakeholders to address the various challenges involved in the energy transition.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ICLEI with government official representatives from West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia and Argentina during IEA EE Training Week.
