The workshop aimed to capacitate regional apparatus organizations (OPD) in the region in conducting more effective and relevant information campaigns through their digital platforms.<\/span><\/p>\n (In the picture above, right to left) Arif Wibowo, Country Manager of ICLEI Indonesia; and Anggia Rahma Kania, staff at DISPORA.<\/p><\/div>\n Arif Wibowo, Country Manager of ICLEI Indonesia, emphasized the importance and strategic role of the local government in the sector of youth safety and inclusion, as well as the importance of integrating digitalization in the city\u2019s sustainability agenda.<\/span><\/p>\n He said \u201cIn realizing the global agenda to tackle the climate crisis and carrying out the SDGs<\/strong><\/span><\/a> in cities, adopting a penta-helix approach by integrating youth participation in development is key to building a sustainable city. It is ICLEI Indonesia\u2019s mission to assist local governments such as Bandung City to take on this challenge and capitalize on development opportunities.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Local government representatives from Bandung City during a group focus discussion.<\/p><\/div>\n Facilitating cross-sectoral collaboration and peer learning,\u00a0 the workshop was attended by representatives of several departments in the city of Bandung, namely the Environmental Agency;\u00a0 Public Relation Department (<\/span>HUMAS)<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/a>; Culture and Tourism Agency; Coblong, Bojong Kaler, Bandung Wetan districts; Spatial Planning Agency (DICIPTABINTAR<\/strong><\/span><\/a>); Regional Development Planning Agency (BAPPELITBANG<\/strong><\/span><\/a>), Information and Communication Department (DISKOMINFO<\/strong><\/span><\/a>); Education Department (DISDIK<\/strong><\/span><\/a>); Housing and Residential Department (DPKP); Fire and Rescue Agency; Water Resources Department (DPKP<\/strong><\/span><\/a>); Youth and Sport Agency (DISPORA<\/strong><\/span><\/a>) and Women Empowerment and Child Protection Department (DP3A<\/strong><\/span><\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n Some of the key takeaways during the session include: (1) social media is important in improving community engagement, raising public awareness, and advocating for youth safety and inclusivity; (2) city line departments must analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of each digital platform to maximize their potential in addressing community needs and delivering public services; and (3) a Training of Trainers needs to be conducted to further build capacities within the local government.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" (In the picture above) Representative of Bandung City local governments and ICLEI Indonesia Staff.
