This <a href=\"https:\/\/icleiseas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/S2-Cities_Call-For-Cities-2022_Briefer.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>new call for participants<\/strong><\/span><\/a> builds upon its <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">2021 pilot implementation in Envigado, Colombia, and Bandung, Indonesia.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The S\u00b2Cities Program aims to improve\u202fyoung people\u2019s safety and wellbeing\u202fin urban environments, with the support of local administration and stakeholders. Led by <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Global Infrastructure Basel Foundation<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, in partnership with <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ICLEI<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, hosted by <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Swiss Philanthropy Foundation<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, and with the support of <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Fondation Botnar<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, S\u00b2Cities serves as a platform for meaningful\u202fyouth engagement in ideating and implementing solutions\u202fto safety and inclusivity challenges.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">first <a href=\"https:\/\/asean.org\/asean2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/First-ASEAN-Youth-Development-Index.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">ASEAN Youth Development Index released in 2017<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> places the population of young people ages 15-34 years old at around 213-million. With their sheer number, unconventional thinking, and new viewpoints, the youth have enormous potential to be key contributors to local sustainable development.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">By participating in the S\u00b2<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Cities Program, cities will be supported in improving urban safety for young people.
