Photo courtesy of\u00a0WNT Province Department of Communication, Informatics, and Statistics (KOMINFOTIK), WNT Provincial Public Relations.<\/h6>\n<p>The ICLEI Indonesia Office and consultant PT Energi Biru Indonesia recently facilitated the kickoff meeting for the West Nusa Tenggara (WNT) Province 100% RE Roadmap Development last 22 November at the WNT Department of Energy and Mineral Resources (DESDM).<\/p>\n<p>The roadmap development will be guided by the WNT Province Energy Profile and Energy Modelling documents created by ICLEI, the National General Energy Plan (RUEN), WNT Local General Energy Plan (RUED), as well as other relevant national policies<\/p>\n<p>Various stakeholders at the local and national levels will also be involved to foster active and inclusive participation throughout the development process.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_6806\" style=\"width: 690px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6806\" class=\"wp-image-6806 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/icleiseas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/100-RE-WNT-Kickoff-Meeting-1-1024x768.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" height=\"510\" srcset=\"https:\/\/icleiseas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/100-RE-WNT-Kickoff-Meeting-1-1024x768.png 1024w, https:\/\/icleiseas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/100-RE-WNT-Kickoff-Meeting-1-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/icleiseas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/100-RE-WNT-Kickoff-Meeting-1-768x576.png 768w, https:\/\/icleiseas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/100-RE-WNT-Kickoff-Meeting-1-958x719.png 958w, https:\/\/icleiseas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/100-RE-WNT-Kickoff-Meeting-1-800x600.png 800w, https:\/\/icleiseas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/100-RE-WNT-Kickoff-Meeting-1.png 1600w\"  sizes=\"(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-6806\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Representatives from ICLEI Indonesia, roadmap expert and consultant PT Energi Biru Indonesia, and the project implementation team<\/p><\/div>\n<p>During the meeting, DESDM Secretary Ary Purwantini highlighted the importance of this collaborative approach, saying &#8220;We need to assure the conduct of knowledge sharing within each department, as the roadmap will guide the future actions that should be taken by all stakeholders, including those from the government, private sector, and other organizations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Teguh Dharmawangsa, Head of Spatial Planning Section of the WNT Province Department of Public Works and Public Housing (DPUPR) , also asserted the need to take into account the provincial and district\/city spatial planning documents in the implementation of the 100% RE Roadmap.<\/p>\n<p>Teguh said that considering existing spatial designations will help ease the burden on local governments as they formulate department-level strategies and activities. More importantly, this will ensure a stronger foundation for the roadmap, especially in the context of spatial designation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Towards net-zero by 2050<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Following the kickoff meeting, the ICLEI Indonesia team and WNT DESDM met with the province\u2019s Deputy Governor Dr. Ir. Hj. Photo courtesy of WNT Province Department of Communication, Informatics, and Statistics (KOMINFOTIK), WNT Provincial Public Relations.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Showing her appreciation for the project, Deputy Governor Djalilah said that the development of the 100% RE Roadmap is in line with WNT\u2019s ambition of reaching net-zero by 2050.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope that the project implementation team members and stakeholders in WNT will be actively engaged in the roadmap development. To achieve our goal, we also need assistance and support from the national government,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>The deputy governor\u2019s endorsement is expected to further rally support from WNT\u2019s administrative divisions and stakeholders.
