{"id":2696,"date":"2017-11-09T09:02:19","date_gmt":"2017-11-09T09:02:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/icleiseas.org\/?p=2696"},"modified":"2017-11-09T09:04:59","modified_gmt":"2017-11-09T09:04:59","slug":"iclei-seas-members-recognized-with-seal-of-good-local-governance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icleiseas.org\/index.php\/2017\/11\/09\/iclei-seas-members-recognized-with-seal-of-good-local-governance\/","title":{"rendered":"ICLEI SEAS members recognized with Seal of Good Local Governance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ICLEI Southeast Asia Secretariat congratulates its dynamic members who were recognized by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) with this year\u2019s Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).<\/p>\n<p>SGLG is given to local government units who pass the assessment in three core competency areas: good financial housekeeping; social protection; and disaster preparedness and at least one in these essential assessment areas: business friendliness and competitiveness; peace and order; and environmental management.<\/p>\n<p>The award, first introduced in 2014, aims to encourage local governments to practice good governance punctuated with better and efficient social services.<\/p>\n<p>Interior Secretary Ismael Sueno congratulated the winners, noting, \u201cWe urge you to do more. Do not stop with the Seal or the Lupong Tagapamayapa Award.
