{"id":11167,"date":"2026-09-03T09:34:12","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T01:34:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/icleiseas.org\/?p=11167"},"modified":"2026-09-03T09:34:12","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T01:34:12","slug":"wsf-12-concludes-opens-nominations-for-mdpi-sustainability-foundation-awards-2027","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icleiseas.org\/index.php\/2026\/09\/03\/wsf-12-concludes-opens-nominations-for-mdpi-sustainability-foundation-awards-2027\/","title":{"rendered":"WSF-12 concludes; opens nominations for MDPI Sustainability Foundation Awards 2027"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/sciforum.net\/event\/WSF-12\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>12th World Sustainability Forum (WSF-12)<\/strong><\/span><\/a> concluded on 24 August 2026 after four days of discussions among researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and sustainability practitioners in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n<p>Following the event, the MDPI Sustainability Foundation\u2014WSF-12&#8217;s primary organizer\u2014opened nominations for two awards recognizing academic and societal contributions to sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>World Sustainability Award<\/strong>, which carries a prize of USD 100,000, will recognize one senior researcher whose work has made a transformative contribution to sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Emerging Sustainability Leader Award<\/strong> will recognize one outstanding early-career researcher and includes a USD 20,000 prize.<\/p>\n<p>Award recipients will be formally recognized at the <a href=\"https:\/\/sciforum.net\/event\/WSF-13\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>13th World Sustainability Forum<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, scheduled for 8\u201311 June 2027 in Nice, France.<\/p>\n<p>Nominations are open until <strong>30 November 2026<\/strong>.
