{"id":10602,"date":"2026-05-21T15:18:31","date_gmt":"2026-05-21T07:18:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/icleiseas.org\/?p=10602"},"modified":"2026-05-21T15:22:17","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T07:22:17","slug":"3-philippine-cities-complete-training-on-nature-based-urban-resilience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icleiseas.org\/index.php\/2026\/05\/21\/3-philippine-cities-complete-training-on-nature-based-urban-resilience\/","title":{"rendered":"3 Philippine cities complete training on nature-based urban resilience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Philippine cities of Borongan, Zamboanga, and Legazpi completed training modules on integrating nature-based solutions (NbS) in urban planning, developed and delivered by ICLEI Southeast Asia (SEA) for the Climate Resilient Cities \u2013 Nature-based Urban Resilience Through Unifying and Responsive Engagement (CRC-NURTURE) Project.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project, which was implemented by Catholic Relief Services (CRS) with funding support from the United Kingdom\u2019s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), <\/span><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><a style=\"color: #00ccff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share\/p\/1EVTYxLMLe\/\"><strong>wrapped up in March 2026<\/strong><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CRC-NURTURE was built on the foundations of the earlier <\/span><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><a style=\"color: #00ccff;\" href=\"https:\/\/icleiseas.org\/index.php\/2024\/09\/19\/iclei-sea-trains-ph-cities-to-assess-plan-for-climate-change-and-disaster-risks\/\"><strong>Climate Resilient Cities (CRC) project, which ICLEI SEA was also a part of as the project\u2019s training consultant<\/strong><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, having supported six cities in building their capacity to assess climate and disaster risks and develop their Local Climate Change Action Plan (LCCAP).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CRC-NURTURE worked with the highly climate-vulnerable Philippine cities of Borongan, Zamboanga, and Legazpi to advance the integration and institutionalization of climate risk-informed NbS in urban planning and development processes. The last session also focused on mentoring participants in developing an NbS Roadmap for their city, which will help translate plans into coherent, implementable, and investable actions. The city\u2019s draft NbS Roadmap or City Urban Nature-Based Solutions Action Plan is also one of the training\u2019s key outcomes.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_10608\" style=\"width: 508px\"
