{"id":10400,"date":"2026-02-12T10:32:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-12T02:32:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/icleiseas.org\/?p=10400"},"modified":"2026-02-12T10:32:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T02:32:08","slug":"3-iclei-sea-members-among-a-list-cities-for-climate-leadership-transparency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icleiseas.org\/index.php\/2026\/02\/12\/3-iclei-sea-members-among-a-list-cities-for-climate-leadership-transparency\/","title":{"rendered":"3 ICLEI SEA members among \u2018A List\u2019 cities for climate leadership, transparency"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Special Capital Region of Jakarta in Indonesia, and Makati City and Quezon City in the Philippines\u2014ICLEI Southeast Asia (SEA) members\u2014are among the CDP 2025 \u201cA List\u201d Cities recognized for climate leadership, transparency, and action.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdp.net\/en\/disclose\"><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><b>CDP<\/b><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is an international nonprofit organization that provides an environmental impact disclosure system for the private and public sectors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CDP\u2019s 2025 A List recognizes companies, cities, states, and regions that achieved an A score based on their self-reported data through the CDP-ICLEI Track, the global reporting platform.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For cities\/regions to achieve an A score, they must meet robust climate leadership criteria, which include publicly reporting environmental data through CDP-ICLEI Track; maintaining a comprehensive territory-wide emissions inventory; having a published climate action plan, science-aligned emissions reduction targets, a completed climate risk and vulnerability assessment; and an adaptation goal addressing current and future climate hazards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CDP published its<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdp.net\/en\/data\/scores#cities-a-list\"><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><b> 2025 A List Cities<\/b><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in January 2026, with<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/iclei.org\/news\/seventy-three-iclei-members-make-cdp-2025-a-list-celebrating-climate-leadership\/\"><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><b>73 ICLEI members<\/b><\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">among the 120 cities in the list. Four Southeast Asian cities made the list, including the three ICLEI SEA members.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The CDP Cities A List highlights climate leadership in practice and the ways in which cities\/regions disclose their climate risks, needs and opportunities; attract investment for priority projects; and showcase replicable, high-impact solutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Stronger climate governance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In their <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cdp.net\/en\/press-releases\/cdp-a-list-2025\"><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><b>press release<\/b><\/span><\/a><b>,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> CDP recognized how sub-national governments continue to strengthen their climate and nature governance through disclosure. In 2025, more than 1,000 cities, subnational states, and regions reported environmental information through the CDP-ICLEI Track.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CDP also acknowledged the consistency of cities and regions in the Global South in terms of climate reporting, demonstrating environmental transparency and action.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/carbonn.org\/initiatives\/cdp-iclei-track\/\"><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><b>CDP-ICLEI Track is powered by ICLEI and CDP<\/b><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, two mission-driven organizations working to advance a sustainable global economy for people and the planet.
