Integrated Resource Management in Asian Cities: The Urban Nexus
About the Project:
The Urban Nexus adheres to the principle of holistic or integrated urban planning with focus on water, energy, and food (land use) sectors. It is a regional project implemented across seven countries including China, Indonesia, Mongolia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. India joined as the seventh country during the project’s second phase.
ICLEI SEAS serves as implementation partner in the Philippines and in Indonesia. As such, ICLEI SEAS coordinates the implementation of nexus pilot projects in the two countries in the areas of low-cost housing, solid waste and wastewater management, and land use planning. ICLEI SEAS also facilitates national-local dialogues to support vertical integration and further uptake of the nexus approach across various government levels.
